Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island, UAE
According to the TOPHOTELPROJECTS database, an impressive 328 projects are on track to reaching completion in June.
As many as 60,918 new rooms are encompassed within this influx of global four- and five-star hotel openings.
June is set to be a busy month for hotel openings with 199 four-star and 129 five-star properties making their debut across the world.
Of these openings, 119 hotels are to open in Europe, 98 properties are making their debut in North America, 69 hotels are opening in Asia and 26 hotels are opening in the Middle East. Another 10 hotels are debuting in Africa and six hotels are to open in South America.
The countries standing out for new hotel arrivals then include the United States, which is expecting 71 hotel openings in June, and China with a significant 39 hotels to debut throughout the month. The United Kingdom is welcoming 25 new properties and both Mexico and Italy are to see 11 new arrivals.
London has seven hotels opening in June, Dubai is set to welcome five hotels across the month and New York expects four new hotel debuts.
Hotel brands making a mark at this time include Hampton by Hilton with seven openings comprising 1,051 rooms, Hilton Garden Inn with six openings encompassing 1,124 rooms and Hyatt Regency Hotels with five openings bringing together 1,702 new rooms.
Notably properties opening throughout the month include the 418-key Movenpick Resort Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, the 225-key Virgin Hotel Edinburgh in Scotland and the 835-key Melia White Sands Hotel & Spa in Cape Verde.
Movenpick Resort Al Marjan Island will place guests right on the beachfront of the man-made coral-shaped island it takes its name from, with views over the Arabian Gulf and coastline of Ras Al Khaimah. This five-star resort’s rooms, suites, villas and facilities including beachfront restaurants, a rooftop sunset terrace, wellness facilities and event space are located within landscaped gardens.
Over in Scotland, Virgin Hotel Edinburgh is located in the landmark India Buildings of Edinburgh’s Old Town. Accommodation ranging from the brand’s signature Chambers to Grand Chamber Suites is joined by social spaces spanning dining and drinking outlets and the brand’s flagship Commons Club, as well as meeting space.
In Cape Verde, Melia White Sands Hotel & Spa is then split into family and adult-only sections, with facilities in the family section including children’s pools and an adventure playground.
The main building of the hotel complex will comprise several restaurants and bars. Several swimming pools with swim-up bars, tennis courts, water sports facilities and a spa complete the resort experience. All of this is in a scenic location overlooking Boa Vista’s idyllic Santa Monica Beach.
