President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s Ukraine has perhaps tasted its biggest victory yet in the ongoing war with Russia. The Ukrainian authorities say their anti-ship missiles have hit the mighty Moskva. Russia has not admitted to the Ukrainian claim. They say the ship was ‘severely damaged’ due to a fire and subsequent explosion of ammunition onboard. This infographic captures the contrary claims, the history of the ship and takes a quick look at the Ukrainian missile used to attack the ship.

Please note, since the publishing of this infographic, Russia has confirmed that the ship has sunk but not admitted to the ship getting hit by Ukrainian missiles. The Russian Defence Ministry has said Moskva sank in “stormy seas” while being towed to a port in the Black Sea following an explosion.
