Neuroscience Department's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee Curates Campus-Wide “Do you need help?” Resources – Yale School of Medicine

Last spring, the Department of Neuroscience’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee launched a website to share its mission statement and goals, advertise events, and highlight resources. While curating this list of resources, the committee realized that many excellent resources are available to Yale community members for addressing concerns about discrimination, harassment, and mental health. The breadth of resources spread across different Yale offices and centers, however, presents a challenge: in a time of crisis, one needs to find information quickly. Using only the list on the website, it could be difficult for someone to find the appropriate help.
To address this challenge, the committee created an easy-to-follow infographic with campus resources organized into categories depending on the nature of the concerns. The resources listed not only provide community members with ways to officially report incidents, but also where to seek support if they are unsure about filing a formal complaint or need immediate crisis help.
The Department of Neuroscience will be printing and distributing this infographic on magnets and posters to be placed in all its primary faculty’s laboratories and workspaces. The committee encourages other departments or institutes to do the same. If you are interested, please download the infographic below.
