The position is to be filled by October 1, 2022, with a contract duration of 1 year. Employment/Service location will be in Afrin -, with frequent visits to Syria Field Offices (Azaz, Idleb) upon the project management request. The position is paid according to 50% of the SG5 [[paygrade]].
The partime working methodology will be as Four working hours on daily basis from 08:00 till 12:00, sometimes, depending on the project activities and location, the timing of the four working hours might be flexible accordingly. Based on the experience and fund, the contract might become full time to cover WHH activities in AlDana-Idleb in the future.
Through direct implementation and local partners, Welthungerhilfe has been implementing protection integrated multi-cluster projects focusing on FSL, early recovery, agriculture, SNFI, WASH and Shelter in Idleb and Aleppo since 2017. The Outreach Worker (OW) will be based in A’zaz and Afrin and will be part of the mobile protection desk.
Reporting directly to Communications Officer and Head of Project based in Gaziantep, the Media Assistant is responsible for collecting media raw materials of photos and videos and editing them in alignment with WHH policy, identifying humanitarian stories and prepare the proper story telling product in advocacy for the humanitarian situation.
. The media assistant will be covering the rquired work of graphic and posters designs in project location (Afrin) working under part time contract. Position open to Syrian nationals only
Education: University/Diploma degree in Journalism or Communication, development communication, social sciences, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with three years of relevant professional experience; or Completed High school degree, with three years of relevant professional experience in the below listed skills.
Work Experience: Minimum one-year professional experience in a similar position, covering media activities in humintarian context.
Skills/knowledge:
Proven experience in communications and media work, preferably with a development NGO
Proven experience of photography and videography skills, MS office application (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and desktop publishing software, knowledge, and skill in graphic design a plus.
Excellent command in the use of Adobe Premier Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, Audition and proficiency in Illustrator, InDesign
Experience in designing publications, developing promotional materials including photo shop, info graphics etc.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and familiarity with using social media networks
Knowledge of technical aspects involved in the production of different public IEC materials.
Willingness to assume duties and responsibilities in all communications areas, as needed
Ability to work in a team.
Familiarity with Local Context: Candidates who have work experience and knowledge of the local context in A’zaz and/or Afrin are preferred.
The Media will be obliged to maintain confidentiality regarding all information obtained in the course of his/her work during the employment at Welthungerhilfe and thereafter.
