Warner Bros. Discovery is facing a lot of backlash after releasing an infographic that broke down the demographics of their two streaming services, HBO Max and Discovery Plus.
The infographic was released as part of the company’s Q2 earnings call, in which it was announced that the two streaming services will merge into a single service in summer 2023.
There was immediately backlash from people on social media, who called the infographic “sexist.”

The company says that HBO Max has a “male skew” with scripted shows that are “appointment viewing” while Discovery+ has a “female skew” with unscripted shows that are “comfort viewing.”
