An interesting Genshin Impact inforgraphic gives a better explanation of the new elemental reactions which are scheduled to arrive in update 3.0.
Genshin Impact's recent livestream event for Version 3.0 has confirmed the arrival of a major region named Sumeru. This major update will also introduce a brand-new element to the game's combat system.
Genshin Impact's world has seven different elements, and Dendro is the only one that is yet to be featured on a character's kit. The live stream has confirmed that this will be changing soon, as the first banner of the new update will introduce three new Dendro characters – including the new version of the Traveler.
A new post on the popular Genshin Impact subreddit gives more information about the upcoming Dendro elemental reactions. Reddit user prezler has made an interesting infographic listing all the elemental reactions that will become available once the new element arrives in the upcoming Gesnhin Impact Version 3.0. The new element will introduce six new elemental reactions:
There is an additional elemental reaction tied with the element named Burning, but it was part of the game since the beginning. It can be triggered by combining Dendro with Pyro, and it deals AoE Pyro damage. Multiple replies in the comment section state that the new elemental reactions will completely change the current Genshin Impact meta, which means that older DPS characters like Keqing or Diluc could become viable again. A big part of the community claims that the new Dendro element could become a must-have for almost any team composition.
Previous Genshin Impact leaks have been hinting that new types of team compositions that focus on triggering a specific elemental reaction like Aggravate or Burgeon could become viable options in the future. A couple of comments claim that this will give much-needed diversity when it comes to choosing the right team composition as players seem to be tired of using the same S-tier characters over and over again.
Players will have the option to use the new element from the beginning since Aether and Lumine will probably receive their Dendro transformation in the first couple of quests. The Traveler's Elemental Burst has huge AoE effect that allows for constant Dendro application. The live stream event has also confirmed that players will receive a new four-star Dendro character named Collei for free.
Genshin Impact is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
